The railway carriage was standing in the Forest of Compiègne, and this is more commonly given as the location of the event rather than the town itself.

A minor point, but as with one or two earlier questions, the wording of this one was sufficient to plant a seed of doubt in the mind of the contestant – which is never helpful.
